✈️ What is Slipstream Surfer?
Slipstream Surfer is a high‑speed arcade chase where you ride the wake of live air traffic. Using real‑time data from the OpenSky Network, the game populates the skies over Chicago with actual aircraft. Your mission: locate a plane, tuck into its slipstream, and recharge your battery—all while avoiding a mid‑air collision.
⚡ How it works
- 🔹 Fly your own ship (the white arrow) through a vast 2D map.
- 🔹 Blue glows on the screen’s edge show you where the nearest planes are hiding.
- 🔹 When you get behind a plane (in its blue “draft cone”), your energy recharges and your speed increases.
- 🔹 Energy drains constantly when you’re not drafting. If it hits zero, it’s game over.
- 🔹 Crash into a plane and you explode—game over.
- 🔹 The longer you survive, the higher your score.
🌐 Live Data vs. Simulation
The game first attempts to fetch live flights from OpenSky via free CORS proxies. If the live feed is unavailable (rate‑limited or blocked), it seamlessly falls back to a procedural simulation—so you can always play.
📱 Built for desktop & mobile
Keyboard shortcuts for desktop, and a touch‑friendly analog joystick that appears automatically on mobile devices.
